Canyoning Event in Austria

Subscribtion Deadline was Friday the 25th of August at 12am and is now over!
Canyoning (also known as Canyoneering) consists in travelling down canyons using a variety of techniques that include walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and swimming.
This event will take place on the Weekend of the 09-10 September 2006 in
Lingenau (Austria).
As the number of available places is limited to 42 persons, the places will be given on a first come first served basis with a priority to
club members.
Event Details:
- Depending on the number of people joining, it will be either a bus or mini-van / private car trip:
- 2 day trip leaving Saturday 09 September at 07:00 and returning around 23:00 on Sunday 10 September.
- The price is not yet fully defined but should remain between 100 and 130 euros.
- We will sleep in Tipis at the Outdoor center (organising the event) in Lingenau.
- Barbecue on Saturday night and on Sunday noon will be included.
- Saturday afternoon we can go hiking, climbing and/or for those who would like to learn climbing, there might be the possibility to try it out on a climbing tower at the outdoor center. There are also some other activities like: Darts, Boccia, Crazy-Bridge, Archery...
- the Canyoning starts on Sunday morning at 09:00 in Dornbirn.
The Canyon consists of 2 parts: "Merlin's World" and "Kanguru Jumping". It is close to Dornbirn and many information, pictures and even a topo of it can be found on the following link:

Conditions:
If you have any heart cycle problems, heart diseases, centrifuge traumas or ear diseases as well as movement handicaps,
then you can not participate to this activity. You also need to know how to swim.
A pregnant woman can not be allowed to participate.
What you need:
- Sleeping Bag,
- Swimsuit,
- Towel,
- Step-safe / high shoes (not slippery on wet rocks and protecting your ankles) would be quite good!
What will be provided:
- a professional Canyoningguide,
- Neoprene suit, gloves and socks,
- Helmet,
- Harness and remaining safety gear.
- a Schluchtenschnaps (after the Tour).
