We are happy to announce that another Climbing and Mountaineering Trip is being organized for this year!

It will take place in the French Aravis region (mountain range west of Mont-Blanc), for the dates: 24-28 June

Day 1: Travel from Darmstadt to Thônes
Day 2: Climbing day – Col de la Colombière
Day 3: Climb to Refuge Gramusset
Day 4: Climb to Pointe Percée (2750 m) with mountain guides
Day 5: Hike down and travel back to Darmstadt

A detailed plan can be found in the attachment and has been prepared by Olivier; you can contact him at olivier.samain@external.eumetsat.int if you have any questions about the activities.

This is a mixed climbing / mountaineering trip. See the attached document for details.

There is no requirement on climbing level, but all participants should feel confident rope climbing, whether lead or top rope. Before the trip, outdoor climbing sessions can be organized by the participants (and any other member of the club) to get more comfortable in an outdoor environment and to learn more advanced techniques which will be useful during the trip.

The club will make available its equipment in addition to what the single participants already own – this will be coordinated once the participant list is fixed.

For now, the trip is open for 12 people. You must be a member of the club to join, if not the case you can follow instructions here.

The trip is self-drive.

To reserve your spot, please fill the linked sheet and send a deposit of 150 euros to the Climbing Club account before the 27th of April.

If you’re interested, please indicate if you have a car available.
